E3 - Console Wars

OK, as most or all of you know, it is E3, and this E3, everyone is talking about one thing...Next-Generation Consoles. Today, not only was the PS3 unveiled, so was the Revolution. The Xbox 360 has been shown since Tuesday, so the Press Conference was a little blah.

Microsoft- Showed off the Xbox 360 the other day. Not much new, except the Market Place talked about at the Game Develepors Conference was stressed. My opinion? They are stressing to much for the non-gamers to get in, at a totally - convention! There aren't many moms that don't ever play games at this conference! Stress that at launch, us geeks want really cool games, nice graphics, and awesome features! They games they showed weren't the games we wanted. No Halo, no Perfect Dark even! It will be backwards compatible though...well this is what he said "You can play the top selling Xbox games on Xbox 360!" Does that mean just Halo 2, or can I play Tetris Worlds on my 360? Will they re-make them to work with the new graphics card? Who knows?

Sony- They unveiled the PlayStation 3! It looks like the crappiest console yet! But whats inside is what counts right? They have 2 GeForce (I think geforce) graphics cards in there! That is $500 for each card! How can they sell this console that cheap!?! The graphics were astounding, and they showed a few cool games I can get excited about. Killzone 2 looks good, as does the other FPS they showed. The controller looks like a boomerang, and I only got a glimpse, so who knows what it really is like. It is pretty early in development, but they had the best showing for their console this year.

Nintendo- The runners up in this console battle, will they pull it off this time around? Well, who knows? They showed the Revolution...and well thats it! Just the black box. No controllers, no games, just the box! It will be backwards compatible straight from GameCube discs, but a new definition of backwards compatible is coming. You can download old games from the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) Super NES, and the N64. They showed off Nintendogs, and the Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess! This game looks awesome! But, Link can turn into a wolf. As Adam Sessler stated on E3 '05 Live on G4, it is the feeling he got when playing the Arbiter in Halo 2. Not what he expected. And I felt the same way when I saw a wolf onscreen. I was confused and kind of worried. This could've been GameCubes really late Killer App. But, maybe it will be! And the GameBoy Advance Micro. Another version of the GameBoy Advance. I was hoping for more of a PSP Killer, but no, this is a small Game Boy. I mean small! Like cell phone size screen! It is for us teens who want to hide our geekiness I guess. LOL

All for today concerning E3, tommorow it starts, but I'll be at the Star Wars premier event! Be ready for Thursday and a new batch of games/
