Revive the old companies!

The other day I was sitting around, and I saw my old Sega Genesis. It was my second system, but really the first that got me into gaming. I had a Super Nintendo or a regular Nintendo, I can't remember which, before that, and the only game I can distinctly remember playing was Duck Hunt, with the orange light-gun! Anyway, I used to spend hours playing Sonic 1, 2, 3, Sonic and Knuckles with that cool extender pack, and a few other Sonic games. I had Road Rash, Golden Axe, Shinobi, Streets of Rage, Mortal Kombat, even a Pac-Man game! Those were good times! I was thinking, wouldn't it be cool if Sega got back into the console race? I would buy the system, and I'm sure everyone else would too! I remember playing Sonic Adventure for the first time on the Dreamcast at EB Games. I was thinking, "Wow, it is 3-D and I can move in all directions!" It was awesome! What other game companies or console makers who had given up due to loss of income or some other incident, should come back? What games do you think should have some sequels made for it? Post you thoughts in the comments!

Download your Brain!

I was reading on the internet about super computers. Not just any supercomputers, I mean supercomputers with human brains downloaded into them!

"London, England -- By the middle of the 21st century it will be possible to download your brain to a supercomputer, according to a leading thinker on the future. Ian Pearson, head of British Telecom's futurology unit, told the UK's Observer newspaper that the rapid advances in computing power would make cyber-immortality a reality within 50 years. Pearson said the launch last week of Sony's PlayStation 3, a machine 35 times more powerful than the it replaced, was a sign of things to come. "The new PlayStation is one percent as powerful as the human brain," Pearson told the Observer. "It is into supercomputer status compared to 10 years ago. PlayStation 5 will probably be as powerful as the human brain." Want more? Click on the title link!

A PS3 is as powerful as a 10 year old supercomputer! My brain in my computer! You can definently call it My Computer now! (Even though in Longhorn it will just be "Computer") How cool!?! We are getting into the future even more!

My Broken...Xbox :'(

About a month ago, I rented Burnout 3: Take Down. It was messed up and after about 3 or 4 hours of play, it just wouldn't read the disc. I brought it back and didn't think much about it, just that BlockBuster should have monitered the scratchage (is this a word?) on the discs. The next week, I rented Star Wars Republic Commando, and it wouldn't load up, just as Burnout wouldn't! So, I tried Halo 2. It wouldn't work. I tried Elder Scrolls 3 Morrowind. Nada. Then, Star Wars Clone Wars/Tetris Worlds. Nothing. So I owe an apology to BlockBuster. Also, I need to fix it. I searched on some great sites and found that my disc drive is probably messed up, and needs a cleaning. I checked and after around 30 minutes of Halo 2 on the Xbox loading screen, it said disc cannot be recognized or may be scratched up or dirty. Well, it wasn't and neither were my other games. The tough part to cleaning my disc drive is this. I have to get the mirror clean. That requires opening my Xbox, and my disc drive. I am going to attempt this feat though, and hopefully, I don't need a new drive! :S

I will keep you posted on my opening, and post pictures of it for you. Hopefully.

Nintendo's profits more than double

Nintendo's profits more than doubled! Nintendo Co said Thursday its group net and pretax profits more than doubled in fiscal 2004 from a year earlier due to the yen's depreciation against the U.S. dollar, which swelled the value of the company's dollar-denominated assets.

Maybe Nintendo is getting back in the console race, even if it's because the economy changed, and have a little bit of money to get the Revolution...revolutionary.

Apple planning to sue Micromaxx for iPod mini knockoff!

"Word on the street in the German press is that Apple is preparing to unleash the hounds (legal, that is) on the manufacturers of the iPod mini knockoff, the Micromaxx MM42452. We sort of expected this would happen sooner or later, but apparently Apple is also considering suing the grocery chain that's carrying the device, which has been on sale again since May 30 for 179€. They say the less-than-stellar quality of the MM42452 could potentially damage the iPod line. We’re content to leave the legalese to the lawyers on this one, but what really interests us about this story is that we can’t yet buy MP3 players in grocery stores here in the States (no, Wal-Mart does not count as a “grocery store”). Mmmm, ice cream… fish sticks… pardon, where’s the DAP aisle?" From engadget.com

Sure enough, yesterday I was talking about two Mac Mini knock-offs, and today we hear about an iPod Mini clone, that's going to get sued! This thing really does look like an iPod, a cheap iPod though. Is Apple taking this to the extreme though? I mean, they are selling them in grocery stores! Yeah, it looks like an iPod, but would you buy an MP3 player just for looks?

Technorati WebBlog Rating!!

Technorati (awesome name!) is a website that tells your blogs rank against other web blogs. For example, this site that you are on right now, is ranked at 1,115,685 which I guess is kind of good, since there are 100s of millions of web blogs out there. I think it is made based upon how many sites have your site link. You guys who read this need to post a link to me on your blogs. If you do for me, I'll do for you, and we can have a big huge blog family! :D The link is in the title, and sign-up is free. Post your site and how you rank in the comments.

Cool -and "creative"- Computers

I was on this thing called the internet the other day and found some pretty neat laptops and and desktops. Some were original. Some were complete s! Anyway, here are some of the coolest computers you have ever seen.

First, the s. The Mac Mini is fairly new, and already people are wanting something just like it, but for Windows. Two companies, Intel and AOpen, are trying to cash in on Apples success. Will it happen? If you are that desperate for a small mobile computer, learn how to use a Mac, or just get a laptop.

Another Mac Mini type device, is from AMD. They will be creating a computer for the countries in poverty. It looks kind of like a Mac, by size, but this one will be $185 for the computer, $250 with moniter. It is for third world countries. As is another computer we have. This one is for the people that are illiterate. It uses icons for different things. Those different things are going to be TV, a phone, and the PC. It is going to be under $250.

The last computer I will show you all today is a laptop. A very expensive laptop. I'm talking diamond and ruby studded laptop. With interchangable faceplates. The Tulip E-Go Diamond. This thing is gonna cost ya $355,000. Need I say more?

That is all for the gadgets, but I have a whole lot more I am waiting to show you. I originally had pictures here, but it messed up everything! Below are links for pictures of the computers for your looking pleasure.

From the Shadows!

I recently downloaded From the Shadows boxes 2 and 3. I didn't have enough time for them when I downloaded them, but now I watched them both.

Box 2 is about Jedism and Saberology. It is kind of funny, thinking these guys are THAT into Star Wars. I am into it, but don't literally think there are Jedi! LOL It is kind of good, but nothing really happens until the end, when they duel, which is kind of neat.

Box 3 was awesome. The first segment was of warspying, just like the latest Systm episode, but this time, it just kind of showed how to do it, and showed the wireless networks they are using. Oh yeah, they did do it from in an airplane! AWESOME! Not as good as the Systm, but kind of neat. The next segment had Robert Heron walking on the street and various people ask him questions. (watch the part when they encounter a CD pirate!) Another segment has Yoshi modding a PSP to make the wireless range longer. The last segment was pretty . It was just explained kind of weird, but if you followed the step-by-step insturctions, you could learn how to get packets from another PC and use them to acess their wireless connection.

Overall, I liked them a little bit, and I will download the rest. I am still waiting for the latest episode of Systm though!

Large Tech Show Archive

This page has every episode of The Broken, Systm, The Packer Sniffers, From the Shadows, and TWiT. It has nearly every format available for each of the shows and offers speedy downloads. Looks like a great site to me, because I download every one of those, except Packet Sniffers...whats that?
